What is I Pixel?
Pixel™ is the next generation of fractional resurfacing that helps to improve skin texture, tone and firmness, smoothes wrinkles, and reduces pore size and acne scarring without the downtime and discomfit associated with other resurfacing treatments. The Harmony i Pixel™ Erbium Laser is a FDA-approved laser.
Why is it different from other laser treatments?
The Harmony i Pixel™ Laser delivers results similar to ablative lasers (lasers that resurface the skin) but without the side effects which can include significant irritation as the skin heals. The Harmony i Pixel™ also can be used on many more body parts such as the face, neck, chest and hands.
What can be treated?
The Harmony i Pixel Laser is used to treat:
-
Lines and Wrinkles (can be treated around
eyes and up to lash line)
-
Acne Scarring and reduce pore size
-
Age Spots (on the hands & chest)
-
Superficial Skin Lesions
-
Skin Resurfacing and texture
How does it work?
The laser pulses create tiny ablative zones, removing the epidermis and upper dermis. The treatment then triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue.

The procedure treats small zones of the skin, leaving surrounding tissue untouched and intact. These large unaffected areas act as a reservoir for more effective and rapid tissue healing and collagen production. The bottom line: new, healthier, smoother tissue in place of skin imperfections.
Can my skin be treated?
All areas of the body can be treated but it should be emphasized that resurfacing techniques work best on facial skin. All types of skin colour can be treated except dark skinned Afro-Caribbean.
How many treatments do I need?
We recommend a series of 2-4 treatments (depending on skin indications and desired results) at 4 week intervals.
Does it hurt?
There is little or no discomfort during the treatment. Most commonly, clients feel some slight warmth with the pulse of the laser. Clients experience a sun-burn like sensation afterwards (3-4 hours) that is easily neutralised with a gentle moisturiser.
Are there any side-effects?
Typically, there is little to no downtime associated with the treatment. However some redness and swelling of the skin usually occurs and may last a few hours to a couple of days.
Mineral make-up can be applied immediately after the treatment to help conceal any redness.
Expect slight peeling and flaking to occur for one or two days following the procedure, however full recovery is expected in about five days. Your skin will look better within days following the treatment, and results steadily improve over the next few months.
